When I carve even something as simple as a leaf, as I cut into the wood and see the leaf appear and then making the leaf appear to be in motion rather than a flat surface has always been encouraging to me. Adding an edging to the leaf or veining in a differ way makes each new carving a new experience. Do any of you have these same feelings when carving?

Our woodcarving workshop took a field trip yesterday to Woodcraft in Cannonsburg. Great day, the staff was very pleasant and helpful. Made some purchases and saw a lot of carving tools and possible future purchases lol. Our group meets on Wednesday evenings at 6 PM till 7:30, bring your carving and join in. I moderate and mentor the group. $10 per session, includes some snacks. PM for more information.
