This is a hand made cross made of olive wood from the Holy Land. The chain is 22 inches long but can be made to any length that you prefer. A pair of praying hands are attached and also connect by chain to insure it does not come loose from the cross.

Displayed is a demo mantle that has several features across the five-foot expanse. Also an oak leave mantle for display purpose only, this one was sold.
The mantle is available for sale; however, I would rather create your own personal piece. This carving has many different features to illustrate what you could request.
The carving is 8 inches high and at the deepest point is approx. 2 inches into the carving. I can custom make a mantle from your photos of your family farm or business. I can also just make a custom mantle featuring oakleaves or some other repeating theme. Custom work is billed at $3.50 a square inch of carving area, plus the cost of the lumber. In other words the entire piece does not need carved, you pay only for the carved area. Ex. A Four foot by eight-inch mantle with only the center two foot carved, you would only pay the $3.50 a square in for the two foot area. 24X8=192 sq.in. = $672 plus material (beam/wood). Local delivery charges apply or you can pick up.

This relief carving evolved from a practice piece. I wanted to create some open pine/fir trees as opposed to full branched pine trees that I normally create. I was pleased with the results and decided to create a piece of wall art instead of discarding the work. The only thing I had to work with were 3 trees. I decided that it would be a nature scene no animals or people. I thought a stream would be nice, some additional background trees, A peaked mountain and some deciduous trees to frame the scene. Each element evolved as I created the previous one. Hope you like it.

Hand crafted wall hanging key holder. This is a beginner's project piece that comes in a Carving chisels kit. I decided to do more than just a basic relief carving on the leaves. The piece is finished with Danish oil, hand painted with acrylic paint and coated with clear acrylic. I signed this piece even though it is a small practice project, made it into more than just a carving project.

The carving of faces on wood originated in Germany. The legend then tells of wood spirits who lived in the Black forest and had magical powers to protect the forest from fire and destruction. Thus, if people had a carving of a wood spirit in their home, it too would be safe from fire and destruction. They also bring Happiness, Good Luck and Peace

This flower was hand carved from a piece of basswood and fitted into a metal bezel. The chain is a thick silver chain. The chain as with all my chains are 22inches long however I can make it whatever size you would prefer. I hand painted the flower and covered it in epoxy resin.
