Carefully carved entirely by hand using knives and chisels, this one-of-a-kind piece highlights the depth, texture, and character that only true hand carving can achieve.
The shelf is finished in white and hand painted to enhance the intricate details of the locomotive and surrounding design. Painting a relief carving by hand is a challenging process, but the added color and detail bring the entire scene to life beautifully.
Measuring approximately 24 inches long with an 8-inch-high carved scene, this piece required nearly 15 hours of detailed carving work from start to finish.
No CNC machines or computer-controlled routers were used — every detail was traditionally hand carved by hand, making this shelf a genuine work of craftsmanship and artistry.
