The featured mantel is not available for purchase, but serves as a sample of the custom work I can create specifically for you. The carving incorporates multiple design elements to demonstrate the wide range of themes, textures, and scenes that can be incorporated into your own personalized mantel. This carving measures approximately 8 inches high, with relief carving reaching nearly 2 inches deep in some areas. I can custom carve mantels from photographs of your family farm, home, cabin, business, or other meaningful locations. Simpler repeating themes, such as oak leaves, wildlife, scrollwork, or other decorative patterns, can also be designed to fit your style and space.
Custom carving work is priced at $3.50 per square inch of carved area, plus the cost of the lumber or beam. You only pay for the portions that are actually carved, not the entire mantel surface. For example, a 4-foot mantel that is 8 inches high with only the center 2 feet carved would total:
24" × 8" = 192 square inches
192 × $3.50 = $672, plus material cost
